- Homogeneous
- Intramural mass
- Mass is oval or spherical
- Esophageal wall thickening
- Low- or iso-attenuating
- Calcifications possible but rare

Etiology:
- Unknown
Epidemiology:
- More common in males
- Present at a wide range of ages
Presentation:
- Typically asymptomatic
- Abdominal and/or chest pain
- Esophageal dysphagia
- Regurgitation
Prognosis:
- Leiomyomas are benign
- Malignant transformation is very rare
