Mirizzi Syndrome CT Findings
- Obstruction of extrahepatic bile duct by an impacted stone
- Extrinsic compression or inflammation
Other Information About Mirizzi Syndrome
Etiology:
- Gallstone obstruction
Epidemiology:
- Occurs in less than 1% of patients with gallstones
Presentation:
- Abdominal pain and/or distension
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- Jaundice
- Fever
Prognosis:
- Can be corrected with surgery with a good prognosis
