Contrast Consent

question1. Do you need consent for IV contrast?
question2. Do you need consent for oral or rectal contrast?
questionWe do not currently require informed consent for oral or rectal contrast material. That being said it is reasonable to ask the patients about allergies if an iodinated based oral contrast is used. Reactions are extremely rare but in very allergic patients a barium based agent could be used.
question3. Who gets the signed consent?
question4. What if the patient is unable to sign consent what do we do?
question5. What is your consent policy in an emergency?
