CASE NUMBER 395
Diagnosis

Intracranial Aneurysm

Note
Time of flight MRA images of the head demonstrate a multilobulated 8 mm aneurysm arising from the left internal carotid terminus projecting superolaterally. The CTA of the head shows portions of the aneurysm wall to be calcified. The treatment for aneurysms usually consist of intravascular approach coiling or surgical clipping. This patient underwent stent assisted coiling where the stent is deployed across the aneurysm neck before insertion of the coils through the stent. This technique is helpful for wide-neck aneurysms.
