In most cases sedation is not necessary on a 64 slice MDCT with rapid scan times. If sedation is needed we use nembutal or chloral hydrate. The dose is 4mg/kg for nembutal to a maximum dose of 150mg and 80-100mg/kg. For chloral hydrate the dose is up to a maximum dose of 2000mg. | |
