Fourteen years ago, the illogical and susceptible nature of traditional identification methods fashioned an opportunity to leverage the future of biometric capability. Yet, today, significant industries such as health insurance, among others, distribute pictureless identification cards representative of the holder, rendering it impossible to accurately confirm identity while also requiring manual processing that is highly vulnerable to human error. Similar concerns occur within personal finances. For example, credit cards are physical representations of buying power that can be compromised by whoever possesses the card information. These two examples only serve to justify the notion that conventional modalities of identification are not as effective or secure as they once were, requiring the construction of a secure identity platform that effortlessly confirms individuals are who they say they are [1].
