Abstract: The purpose of this pictorial essay was to aid in the understanding of the anatomy of the iliopsoas groove by presenting imaging of various lesions affecting this region. Neurogenic tumors, lymphangiomas, lymphangioleiomyomatosis, and posterior iliac crest lymph node metastases may present as masses in the iliopsoas groove. Iliopsoas abscess secondary to infections of the adjacent structures, tumors of the iliopsoas muscle, and iliopsoas hematomas may directly extend to this region.
