• Computed Tomography Evaluation of Intestinal Ischemia

    Computed tomography plays an important role in imaging patients with acute abdominal complaints. Computed tomography (CT) is a rapid, accurate, and cost-effective imaging tool, which is especially valuable in the assessment of patients with vague clinical symptoms, nonspecific physical findings, or confusing laboratory results. This article reviews and illustrates the value of CT for the evaluation of patients with intestinal ischemia. Thromboembolic and nonocclusive mesenteric ischemia and ischemia resulting from trauma and obstruction.
