Pulmonary CT Angiography in Patients Suspected of Having Pulmonary Embolism: Case Finding or Screening Procedure?

    Massimo Pistolesi, MD

Purpose: To evaluate traumatized bone marrow with a dual-energy (DE) computed tomographic (CT) virtual noncalcium technique.

Common sense is indeed sufficient to show us that, from the observation of what has in former instances been the consequence of a certain cause or action, one may make a judgment what is likely to be the consequence of it another time. (1)

Bayes theorem establishes the probabilistic relationship between the marginal (prior) and conditional (posterior) probability of random variables (1). Accordingly, the likelihood ratio of a disease indicates the extent of change in the odds of the disease after a test result. Risk stratification of patients is the cornerstone of each diag¬nostic strategy with high performance characteristics.
