Tech Meeting: 2006 Meeting: Course information

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This program presents a comprehensive review and update of the current role of Computed Body Tomography for the CT Technologist with an emphasis on Spiral (Helical) CT and the multidetector CT technology. The lectures are designed to present the material from both an anatomic and pathologic approach with emphasis on CT technique and optimization of scanning protocols. Recent advances in CT application including Multidetector CT, CT angiography, and three-dimensional imaging will be addressed. The role of CT compared to other imaging modalities, both from a cost-effective standpoint and from better clinical management, will be discussed and addressed during various lectures.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Following this program, the participant should be able to:
1. Improve your understanding of the principles of multidetector CT scanning
2. Learn how to optimize CT scanning techniques for more accurate diagnoses in the head, chest and abdomen
3. Learn how to optimize scanning techniques to improve patient throughput and exam efficiently
4. Learn more about the newest CT applications, including 3D CT, CT angiography, virtual colonoscopy and cardiac imaging
5. Learn about multislice CT and its advantages over standard spiral CT
