In recent years, several national campaigns have been implemented to ensure high-quality health care delivery and patient safety [1-3]. Two such initiatives, Image Wisely® [1] and Choosing Wisely® [2], have direct impact on the field of diagnostic radiology. Radiology examinations are the target of efforts to reduce both patient radiation exposure and utilization of diagnostic tests. One of the most frequently used imaging examinations and a major source of radiation exposure is CT. According to a report from the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements [4], CT accounts for nearly half of all the medical radiation exposure in the United States.
