OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this article is to share the views of an experienced expert witness in medical malpractice cases on the use of CT scout images.
CONCLUSION:
The medical literature has resurrected issues regarding viewing of CT scout images. Scout images are an integral part of any CT examination and should be carefully reviewed for findings that may or may not be included in the FOV of the study.
