Comment: There are many ways to evaluate the appendix. We always use IV contrast but never use rectal contrast. We either use 750-1000 cc of oral Hypaque or just give 750-1000 cc of water. Water works well if the plain x-ray or topogram suggests a small bowel obstruction. |
