Pulmonary EmbolismSpiral CT is rapidly becoming the study of choice for the critical evaluation of suspected pulmonary embolism (PE). Multiple studies have shown CT to be nearly equal to conventional angiography for the diagnosis of PE. 3D reconstruction of the spiral CT data set may be helpful for the diagnosis of PE in confusing cases by putting the data into other planes of orientation. Angioscopic views may also play an important role in these cases. |
