Head and Neck: Intracranial aneurysm- Page 1

Go to page: 1 | 2 | next

The role of CT angiography for the evaluation of intracranial aneurysms is still open to debate especially in light of MRI. However, CT provides several important advantages in the rapid noninvasive imaging of intracranial aneurysms. With the use of 3D rendering techniques, supplemented by fly thru and angioscopic projections we are able to detect the presence of aneurysms and their feeding vessels. This information is critical for helping determine the correct management (i.e. embolization, surgery, etc.) of these patients. With multidetector scanners with higher resolution and faster scan times ever smaller aneurysms will be detectable.
